Handling the date type

The date is always stored in day format, regardless of the date type. In the purchase order schedule line table EKET of standard SAP systems, this is handled the same way. In standard SAP systems, the validation of delivery dates is always based on the current date.

The date type is only required for display in transactions ME21N, ME22N and ME23N.

SAP uses the following conventions to convert the date type to a current date:

  • The calendar week becomes the first day of the respective calendar week.

  • The calendar month becomes the first day of the respective calendar month.

The entry of a weekly or monthly date is not explicitly supported, since the current date is always used internally.

However, you can still enter a weekly or monthly date using F4 input help. The calendar weeks and calendar months are displayed in the two left columns of F4 input help:
