Documents are classified by defining the document types of those documents. Any document type can be set up for any SAP business object.

Document type | Identifies the document type. We recommend that you create the document types listed in the table below. |
Description | Description of the document type |
Document Class | General technical document type, e.g. PDF, FAX, or TIF. These are document formats that are preconfigured in SAP. If they are not already in the system, then they must be set up. |
Status | Here, you can determine whether a document type is to appear in the Business Document Navigator as a standard document type. |
You can give the document type whatever name you wish. However, it must follow SAP naming conventions and begin with Y or Z. The following document types are recommended:
