System requirements
This publication lays out the system requirements for the use of xSuite Archive Prism 2.0.3.
Notice
When updating from version 1 to version 2, you must first update to version 1.2.4 using Elasticsearch 7.
Notice
It is possible to install the Archive in a virtual machine (VM). If taking this route, please note that a VM must always share available resources with the host and any other VMs, and that xSuite Archive Prism is an application that is very I/O-intensive. If the system in a VM does not offer the necessary performance, then the installation on a dedicated machine should be performed with the hardware required for such an installation.
Hardware requirements
Component | Minimum |
|---|---|
CPU | 8 processor cores with 2.5 GHz |
RAM | 16 GB RAM without full-text index (Elasticsearch) from 32 GB RAM with full-text index (Elasticsearch) |
Hard-Disk Space | Hard-disk space is dependent on the size of the archive. When installing Elasticsearch on the same server, we recommend extended hard-disk storage with a volume corresponding to the size of the archive. An SSD will accelerate searches with Elasticsearch and is recommended. However, the search also functions with an HDD. The archive data and the full-text data can be outsourced to an external server (NAS or SAN). The administrative database (MongoDB) and the index (Elasticsearch) should not be saved on network drives. |
